Both jams run from 8 to 11 pm and are great fun!

We'll be updating our website soon with a new look, photos, a bio on our newest member, and dare we mention, the start of a new project! We'll make sure to let you know when the changes are complete.

October 2015 News

Hello, and thanks for taking a moment to read our news. We enjoyed a great experience last week as an official showcase band at the IBMA Bluegrass Ramble and wanted to share some highlights, both print and photo:
The week began on Monday with Missy attending a reception for all graduates of IBMA Leadership Bluegrass. She always enjoys the opportunity to catch up with her fellow classmates.
We performed two showcases on Tuesday. The first was sponsored by MerleFest at Vintage Church, a beautiful venue to play and also to watch a show. We were preceded by Steve Gulley and New Pinnacle, what a great band! We finished up there, ventured back across town, and an hour later were on stage at the Raleigh Convention Center Master Workshop Stage.
On Wednesday we opened our booth in the exhibit hall and spent the day there. The evening arrived and we played two more shows, one at the convention center and then over to Tir Na Nog for our final performance. All of our showcases were well attended and we want to say thanks to all who stopped by.
Thursday morning began with Missy and Artie attending the DJ taping sessions, a chance for the artists to speak with the radio broadcasters who play our music. Missy was back at the exhibit hall booth in the afternoon, while Artie attended "Gig Fair", a quick meeting with talent buyers who put on some of the great festivals and shows across the country. We hope to get to see you at some of those shows in the future.
Friday was a travel day, and Saturday we played at Kentucky Woolfest, an outdoor event that features three days of bluegrass music. The weather was a bit chilly, but we still had a great time.

Thanks again, and hope to see you soon!

Happy Valentine's Day Newsletter

Hello!
Thanks for taking a moment to read our news, coming to you just in time for Valentine's Day. Last month was an eventful one, filled with both ups and downs.

In late December, during a routine medical examination for Missy a lump was discovered and she was instructed to visit a specialist. The surgeon indicated it was a tumor that should be removed immediately. Surgery was performed on January 9th, and shortly after, the two best words possible "benign tumor" were reported. After a few days of recovery from the surgery along with an allergic reaction to the prescribed medicine, all is well. We wish to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes.

Now for the good news!

Our latest album, Turn This Heart Around, is faring well and we are delighted to find it placed #23 on the Roots Music Report Top 100 Bluegrass Albums of 2014. Many thanks to Radio for the airplay and to our fans for the requests.

On January 17th we completed taping at Willis Music in Florence, KY for an upcoming concert DVD, produced by Heaven's Mark Productions. We are anxious for project completion and to share live music with you. We selected tunes from all three of Missy's albums and also included some other favorites. Meanwhile, we've posted one tune, "Rocks In The River" on our Video page.

On February 7th, we played a show in Mt. Orab, OH along with Joe Mullins and The Radio Ramblers. The house was packed and we had a wonderful time. Joe presents a Bluegrass festival in March and November in Wilmington, OH. Please check this website for dates and schedule. Although we aren't performing there that weekend, we have some time off and plan to attend. Hope to see you there.

If you're looking for some love songs in honor of Valentine's Day, please check our Store for the following selections:
"Rocks In The River" and "Cloudless Blue", from Turn This Heart Around
From Three Kinds of Lonesome, "Just The Same" and "Endlessly". The first is a duet with Chris Jones and the latter with recent Grammy nominee, Frank Solivan.
"All I Want Is You" from Drifting and Dreaming.

Happy Valentine's Day!

October News

Hey everyone, hope all is well. We're back from IBMA World of Bluegrass in Raleigh and though we could only spend three days there, we had a great time. It's always great to see our friends and make new ones. This was the first time for Suzanna to attend an IBMA event and Tim's first visit to Raleigh and both were very impressed. We began the week on Monday evening, attending a Leadership Bluegrass Alumni reception with Missy, who is a graduate of the class of 2013. Tuesday was filled with seminars and visits and rambling around town that evening listening to many bands. Wednesday began with more seminars and then the special awards luncheon with a nice keynote speech given by Bela Fleck. That afternoon we  attended the artist/DJ reception and had the opportunity to thank many of the broadcasters who air our music. We topped of the evening playing a late night showcase at the Pour House, sponsored by our friends at Hearth Music. Jeff couldn't make the trip, so Barry Crabtree filled in on banjo and did an amazing job. He is a true professional and gentleman. Thanks, Barry! After arriving back at the room and to bed at 2:30 am, we were up shortly after 6:00 am and on the road home for a Thursday evening show. The phrase is true when folks state that IBMA stands for "I've Been Mostly Awake"!

The new album is doing well, checking in last week at #8 on the Roots Music Report Top 50 Bluegrass Albums. Once again, we thank Bluegrass Radio and our fans for the airplay and nice comments. We cannot achieve any amount of success without you. We also sent a free download of "Rough Edges" to our current mailing list and are offering the song to new mailing list signups. Please tell your friends about the offer and ask them to join us. Also, everything in the Store is on sale for a few more days, please stop by and shop our website.

Thursday, October 9th marks Artie's Birthday.

From Missy, Jeff, Suzanna, Tim, and Artie, thanks for your support!

Join us on Facebook and Twitter, and please share with your friends.

September News

Hello, and thanks for stopping by to read our recap for the past month. Oh my, where to begin :-)

The new album is doing very well and once again we are very appreciative of all who make that possible, DJ's, radio stations, and fans alike. We were listed on the weekly Roots Music Report Top 50 Bluegrass Album Chart each week in August, as low as #15 and high as #3. One of our goals with this album was to reach out to Bluegrass Music and other genres, and so far we have. We were delighted to learn that The Folk Alliance International DJ Chart placed the album at #2 for the month of July, with three songs placing in the Top 25 for airplay. We'll make sure to report the August details when they become available. Thanks to Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine for including a song from the album on their August "Trail Mix", a list of tunes from many different types of music.  Missy also did a radio interview with Ron Cornett of Worldwide Bluegrass on August 5th and had a great time. In addition, we are the featured artist of the month on Mandozine Radio for September. Very nice of them to include us on their programming.

One sad note of news to report. Our dear friend Ron Murphy passed away late last month after a short battle with cancer. He and his wife Lora are an inspiration to the band, especially Missy and Artie, having performed and promoted Bluegrass Music for well over 30 years. He will be missed. Read about his accomplishments in this Bluegrass Today article.

We mentioned commemorative tees last month. They have arrived and are available for purchase, please visit our Store for details. If you like tie dye shirts this one is for you! In addition to the new one we also have our standard tees and our three albums. We are selling the two previous albums at discounted prices, please check them out and consider a package purchase.

We performed at a couple of very nice festivals in August, the Brown County Bluegrass Festival in Georgetown, OH and the Tri-State Bluegrass Festival in Kendallville, IN for the Northern Indiana Bluegrass Association. We had a great time at both shows and look forward to return dates there. If there are any venues where you would like to see us perform, please let us know via our Contact page.

From Missy, Tim, Jeff, Suzanna, and Artie, thank you!
